Asociación de Hospitales celebra el HIT Executive Summit 2012

El jueves, 24 de mayo 2012 en el Sheraton Hotel & Casino, San Juan, Puerto Rico

Approximately 500 representatives from hospitals, clinics, and physician offices and all major stakeholders in Puerto Rico that need to acquaint themselves with the key issues related to the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH) and its implementation in Puerto Rico.

Keynote Speaker:

Dr. Farzad Mostashari, MD, National Coordinator, Office of the National Coordinator for HIT

Program highlights:

- Representatives from the Government of Puerto Rico will address the status of the HIE Project, Medicaid incentives and MMIS plans.

- Stakeholders representing all the providers of the healthcare industry will present their strategies to implement HIT in their delivery systems.

- Academic institutions will brief us on how they are preparing for these changes as they relate to the education and training of new health professionals.

- The REC will discuss progress on provider adoption of EHR, meaningful use and utilization of clinical quality measures for improving health outcomes.

- Consumer representatives will address how the engagement of patients and families can help reduce health disparities and improve population health status.

The hospital sector will have presentations from several institutions on their HIT efforts and initiatives.

Arlene Pérez, presidenta PRHIMA notifica

American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) decidió unir la celebración de la semana Health Information Management (Profesionales de Manejo de Información de Salud ) que celebramos en el mes de noviembre con la semana de Health Information & Technology Week que se celebra en el mes de marzo y modificaron el nombre a Health Information Professionals (HIP) Week.

AHIMA notificó este cambio en el mes de febrero, con poco tiempo de anticipación para que PRHIMA realizara los cambios necesarios para unirnos a la celebración en el mes de marzo. PRHIMA decidió que en el próximo plan de trabajo del próximo año (2012-2013), que comienza en el mes de julio 2012 , analizará y realizará los cambios necesarios para cambiar nuestra semana del mes de noviembre y celebrarla en el mes de marzo Health Information Professionals (HIP) Week.

La posición de PRHIMA es unirnos a este cambio, para el próximo año.

Aprovecho la oportunidad para comunicarles que nuestra Convención Anual (PRHIMA) se llevará a cabo el 14 y 15 de junio de 2012, en el Sheraton Old San Juan.
